There is quite a varied range of beers and lagers available which should cater for most customer’s requirements. It may be of interest that the Horse & Jockey has again been selected for inclusion in the current edition of CAMRA’s “Good Pub Guide 2006”

For those who enjoy cask conditioned real ale the Jennings Bitter and Jennings Dark Mild, which is brewed in Cockermouth, some seven miles away, is to be strongly recommended. Visitors to the area who like to sample the local brew invariably enjoy it. For those to whom keg beers are more to their liking, John Smith’s Extra Smooth and Tetleys Smoothflow bitter are on tap. For lager drinkers there is the choice between Carlsberg, Fosters, & Stella, which are probably the most popular lagers nationally. In addition to the above, Stongbow is available on draught.
